Sidescrolling platformer? Overhead fantasy? Combination of the two? What is your ideal 2D game? I'm kinda curious as to what kinds of "old school" games our members might be interested in.
Never say never or always. In most cases, there is an exception to anything you can think of that you might use either word in. "Most likely" and "highly improbable" in a lot of those cases would ring true, but not never/always.

Still a fan of the classic RPG genre like Final Fantasy, Breath of Fire, etc., including ones that are set in modern times like Earthbound and Sci-Fi like Phantasy Star. I do still pick up the occasional 2D platformer though like the Mega Man series which I feel does 2D platforming better than Mario.

I'd also like to see a really good Zelda/Brain Lord/Soul Blazer type clone someday too. A good overhead adventure with a good narrative, RPG elements, secrets to find, and puzzles to solve would be a lot of fun too.

The tediousness of paperwork makes my eyes burn and head hurt. Yet it is a necessary evil we all share. I like swords. Swords are simple. They aren't confusing or evil. Just straight forward implements of death. Have a nice day. ~GW

I like swords ~Fighter, 8-Bit Theater

This is off-topic, GW but check out Tunic. I know it's coming for PC and I think it was XBox for console. It seems interestingly Zelda like. I'll take your input into consideration, as it's given me a spark of an idea
