Very true. FF6 is also long. We could also do something with Super Metroid again. Also, we could do stuff with GBA emulators (if they still work on Win7 machines. o.o). Like Metroid Zero Mission or Metroid Fusion or Minish Cap or... hmmm... there's Sonic Battle, but that has annoying music. XD

I can't do anything with PSX emulators because I don't have one... and I'm edgy about looking for bioses (virus-filled sites, etc), which also cannot be handed out here because they're like roms.

I can guarantee they work on Windows 7 Machines, I am doing a race of a Pokmon Emerald Nuzlocke with two of my mates.

As with emulators, I prefer to stick with older ones. If people have proper PC games, we can also do those (A la Binding of Isaac is a great and cheap game on Steam).

I vote for a Super Mario game (SNES or NES), as those take maybe 4 hours to complete if you're doing only a half-speed run.

I'd be interested in a Super Mario World or a Super Mario Bros. 3 race.

Really? World was the first game I ever beat (when I was like 3-4).

If we can get one more, we'd have a nice four-person race. We should also decide on a day.

Oh, man!  I still remember beating Super Mario Bros 3 on my NES!  Such a good game.

For the sake of something like this, though, a shorter game is probably a good idea to start with.  Maybe eventually we can get four people to bust out a game of Four Swords, as well, assuming it's possible to do that via netplay.

I'd be game for a Super Mario World race. I forgot some of the shortcuts, but figuring them out is half the fun.

Anybody familiar with Yoshi's Island? I never played/beat it myself, so that'd be an interesting title to race with.

Yoshi's Island (which is not SMW2...  No idea why they call it that in the US) was really well-made game.

Lttp is about 3-4 hours for an experienced player.  Super Metroid would certainly be interesting, though, or maybe a couple guys could play Mortal Kombat against one another.

I don't mind a Four Swords adventure m'self (I want reddie), but to continue with the suggestions:

Yahtzee's new action sidescroller game, Poacher. It's a Metroid-style action platformer starring portly shotgun-wielding Yorkshireman Derek Badger and a lady ghost called Rebecca what lives in 'is bonce. Features a hard-rocking original soundtrack by Simon Loveridge and directed by Mark Lovegrove, the guy behind the soundtracks for half of Yahtzee's Chzo Mythos series. It's free, but it's good enough to be sold on Steam or other downloadable markets.

Other suggestions include I Wanna Be the Guy and it's predecessor, I Wanna Be the Fangame, as well as classic silly PC shooter Tyrian 2000. I volunteer for all of them.

Whatever we decide, how's about we set a date for this week to either do a test run or a dry run? I'm free most this week in the late hours after 6PM EST. Should be that way for the rest of the summer until I start my Fall semester.

As it's past Monday (my UGC team lost ours with a striking 10-1 loss), I am free the rest of the evenings and am capable at any point in time.
I vote for just about any game at all, as long as it can be done in one sitting for everyone involved (I'd prefer to keep the longer games till later when we have far more organisation and hopefully participants).

If we could pull off some sort of online gameplay session livestream, I'd immediately point to this beat-em-up:
