Hehe, actually Emaleth, these games should be right up your alley if you've never played them. Might and Magic 6, 7 and 8 I would recommend buying (they don't continue really, so you can play them in any order)
They're basically freeform RPG's. Once you start you have the freedom to go anywhere in the world, do anything. There are a series of Quests necessary to complete the game, and others which are just fun. Build your characters up, get them better equipment, better magic ability, promotions etc.. about the closest thing on a PC you can get to AD&D.
M&M9 uses a new engine, as the one they used for 6-8 is now considered "crappy"
