I agree.  FFIX was one of the better PS1 games.  I don't mind the futuristic stuff too much, but I still prefer the medieval setting.  To me there is a certain feeling in the medieval settings that can't be replacated with in the futuristic setting.

Yeah you're right although I am slowly learning Japanese I'm still lost when it comes to reading it.

Ah so that's what that number is for. :)

Just got it a couple of days ago.. man they really did a good job with this one! I mean, I like VII a lot, and I even liked VIII, but this one is totally awesome. I think it's popularity was overshadowed by the Playstation 2 at the time though.

The music is great, and although the in game battle graphics could be better (thought FFVIII had better battle graphics) the CGI scenes are better than all of the others.

They definitely need to return to the medieval world sometime.. I know FFX is techno.. XI may be online.. I just hope that if there is a XII, and it's single player, then they go medieval.. it's just better! I don't miss machine guns at all http://www.gaminguniverse.f2s.com/cgi-bin/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

I agree. Although having said that, the part of FF7 that took place in Midgar was truly a unique experience, that hasn't been duplicated in either FF8, 9 or 10 (not that I've played 10 yet) That dark and shadowed kind of post/technological world was pretty interesting, politicians and corporations instead of kings and princesses. It's little differences like that that make one FF game unique from another, time they headed for another uniqueness in FFXII (which will be traditional! not online! as quoted by the designer himself)

Yeah. So if you don't post for a day it'll be reduced by half, then a third etc.. it'll level off eventually. Mine was around 7 for awhile, then sort of leveled off at 4-5 depending on my posting.. today has been a big one, thanks GW http://www.forums.thegaminguniverse.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Been cool doing the message/reply thing with you again but I gotta go, make sure you hang around often  http://www.forums.thegaminguniverse.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbsup.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Yeah, I agree that FFIX is a great game... I just completed it a few days ago. The back to medieval touch has a bit of technology added in it, not much, but enough to make it like FFVI, and that's what make it a great game.  http://www.thegaminguniverse.net/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

I'm new here, Vagrant introduced the people at EO to this forum.  http://www.thegaminguniverse.net/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

That's good I don't think that the rest of the world is ready with high speed connections to the internet for such a game.  BTW I have FFX and it too has it's own different flavor without politicians and kings, but with religious leaders.

Well good for him ;)

I just completed FF9 a few days ago. Although I had to do some serious levelling up after getting my @#$ kicked in Memoria (I then decided to do the Chocobo game.. awesome equipment there) and when I went back I was suitably strong.

Final boss wasn't too bad either.. all of them. I found the final boss on FF8 to be too hard.. that Quasar Burst or whatever he calls it does 8000 damage on everyone, plus he has the ability to lock your spells, and if you have 100 spells junctioned to HP.. your screwed.. and if a character dies they're deleted..

Nope, FF9 was better all round.

Ah. ok.

I don't think FFX has been released here yet, I'll be getting it as soon as I see it. I'm playing the Rom of FF5 at the moment, quite good I think, got the translation patch luckily.. I've tried playing RPG's in Japanese, you go nowhere fast.

Btw GW, you know your post activity rate is 17.00 a day :D

It'll go down but I think that's the highest I've seen.
