I'll add my part, just cause I can.... (more-so because I decided to look at these forums for once)

Hi, I'm Dan, 19, Male, and I initially joined these forums 26/12/2003 as ThunderDemon and has since, used the following nicks: Dead Chariot (DC), Acid and Antarias, the latter of which I use to this day.
I live in Melbourne, Victoria Australia and joined these forums for LieroX when JasonB had the project running.
I was also made an assistant for the AES group while they were here, making Mongi Tank and the likes.
Since then, I've been ghosting these forums for the past 3-4 years while I was finishing my HS studies and now here I am starting second year University doing a Multimedia and Games Software Engineering double degree.

So yea... time to go flitting through the entrance door, escaping the straight jackets and duct tapes ;) - good times :D

General Chit Chat / So hows it going?

That's right, the Acid/ DC man has decided to check up on this lovely group of people!

Just for a bit of an update as to what's been happening with me over the past year or so:

I finished high school last year, turned 19, and I've gone to university this year to do a course in: Bachelor of Multimedia (Games + Interactivity) / Bachelor of Science (Computer Science and Software Engineering). Its 4 years, so I've got 3 more to go, and I just finished my exams for this semester!

I hope everyone is well, and its good to still see some recognisable faces around here :D

There's a difference in knowing what you're doing and not.
Even then, a 15 year old should be smart enough to know the implications of what they did.

Yes, 'Irritation' comes under all of what you just said :P

General Chit Chat / Australian Burns - 2009 Victoria Bushfires
« on: February 11, 2009, 11:09:45 AM »
I know most people on GU don't live in Australia, but for those who don't know, I'll give a quick run-down of what has happened.

Saturday 7th October:
Victoria had strong hot northerly winds (almost 100 km/h) coming from the middle of Australia. On top of that the temperature of that day was in the mid 40s (~110 fahrenheit).
These conditions were the worst in Victorian history. Worse than Ash Wednesday.

During the day 40+ fires started, most through arson. About 7 were out of control. In some places, 10 story high flames jumped from tree to tree. Whole towns have been lost and over 180 confirmed dead with volunteers yet to search through more places that have been taken out.

To get an idea of what it was like:

Currently, over 40+ Million Dollars have been donated, along with many, many clothes, and other necessities.

If you wish, you can make a money donation through the red cross:

Luckily for me. No one in my family have been affected, but it could have easily taken out my place as I live on a mountain range.

I haven't noticed much difference, and I've been away as well ;)
All I've seen is a few staff changes and a few project changes.

It depends on my level of irritation at the time. :P

If someone purposefully stands in the way, I'll attempt some sort of movement to get them moving, and fast ;)

Good thing I'm not in the US ey? :P

Jokes aside. That would be pretty hard to determine the real from the fake...

For those Battlefield enthusiasts, EA / Dice released information about 2 new games coming to your PC/360/PS3.

These are: Battlefield 1943 (Q2-3 this year), and Battlefield Bad Company 2 (Q1 2010)

Both games are set to use the frostbite engine.

More information can be found at
