Well.., I hope everyone had nice holidays.

(Yeah, bit late, but I can only logon to GU on 1 PC in the house, and I'm rarely at that PC because it's 2 floors up and usually do everything on my laptop :)  )

Oh, [email protected] It's the Flying Dutchman! ;D

I'm doing good, all things considered. How goes the child raising and married life? ')

Very well, ty! :) Our doughter has turned 7 allready, so time flies!
Any 'progress' on the married part on your end?
I really dont visit forums anymore except Reddit and that's only to keep up with the NFL. But from time to time I remember this place and pop in to see how folks are! Sometimes I wish I still had the free time to spend online like 10 years ago but I guess it's a good thing I don't. We stay so busy around here that most personal free time (if I ever get any, lol) is used to play the switch. And even that's hard to do because my 3 year old loves the Switch and is always wanting to take it away from me!

But it's good to see people still chugging on with life! Hope all is well with everyone!
Do I know you from before? Did you have a name change perhaps?

Perhaps Motherboard Monitor can help you define the problem?
See --> here
And/or check the bios for the voltage settings, maybe something is off?

On topic: Kouruu has surfaced again, perhaps he can be of assistance to you Rowan?

And besides, the adapter can be used for other electronic devices as well ;)

Or try something like;
amazon acdc adapter

Or just take the speakers to any electronics shop and let them sort it out ;)

wow, those 10 years flew by!

If you count the iconboards we used when Jim started, it might be even longer!

Edit:  Its also very nice to have memberID 3, 5 and 7 in a 10-year thread :)

Is this a definite break on April 12th?
Yes.., unless more ppl are willing to donate! More on that in the beneath quotes v

I can't speak for anyone else, but even though I am pretty inactive at times know that BlackSpark and Kouruu have had a hand in keeping the irc running.
Correct.. In the beginning we payed for roughly 50% each. I receive the bill and Kouruu paypaled me his share once a month. But he's off the grid since a while...

Although we have the "Who's in chat" on the forum at the top of the page, there is no option listed there to donate. I look at that sometimes. The also is nothing listed on the home page, which lists this news. Going to might only let browser-chatters, not clients ones know that they can even donate, and I would guess that the majority of people that use GU's irc probably don't know that either. Since most people in chat are members of GU, then it's not really advertisement, it's more letting your members know that a little help is appreciated. If a link to donate is available, then more people are likely to donate that having to find it themselves.
Putting up a link could sounds like a very nice idea. is obvious for me, since i created the page, but I realise not many ppl know of it's excistance.

Blackspark, what is the cost of running the IRC?
Out the top of my head I'd say it's around EUR 40,- a month alltogether.
I want to thank you very much for the generous donation you made! I think it's a great example to everyone.
No one will ever be forced to donate in order to use the irc ofc, but if more are willing to do so, I can however prolong the server.

Honestly, I'd have hacked in a link for donations if I'd known the info needed for it, and that it would be necessary. I'll put a link in if BS gives me the info
Thanks for that! I'd have to spit that up from the proggy I used for the site, I'll let you know ;)

In the meanwhile : >> << and click on the donate page in the left menu to select a donation :)

Maybe we should start a GU paypal account and see if anyone's willing to donate.
lol, if ppl wanted to pay for it I wouldn't have to place the server offline. In all the time the server has been up, there's been no one who donated anything at all..
Meanwhile, there have been buttons on since we started it:
And even more buttons on the 'donate' page: (click donate on the left menu)

If anyone is still willing to offer me a small amount, that would be great ofc :) It has been more expensive then when we started o.o

The Gaming Lounge / FF XIII S.E.
« on: March 09, 2010, 07:16:33 PM »
yay, finally FF XIII came out :)  I got a special edition including all the artwork, special card, a audio CD, and much more.

So far, i'm about 6 hours in the game, but it rocks! (PS3)  I really like the FF style that we all know from previous versions, lots of drama, very good story and the best graphics I've seen in a game so far.!

Me <3 !!

How are your experiences so far?
