Title: Art Post - Furry Warning~
Post by: xainy on May 14, 2014, 05:07:25 AM
I was just thinking about how there's several gaming-related pieces I've done recently that I haven't uploaded here. I figured since you guys are trying to revive the forum and A&E doesn't get a ton of posts, I'd help contribute a lil bit.
I know this may not be everyones' cup of tea, but it's how I make a living and I work hard on every piece. If you don't like what I've posted, you're free to press the back button. :)

Anywho!
The images are too big to really attach, so I'll attach like...one. And then you'll have to click this link right here (http://imgur.com/a/Q9uTA) to see the rest. If you click the images at the link, you can see the larger versions as well [though they don't get much larger].

The typhlosion is just a typhlosion! Woo Pokemans!
The second one is just kind of generic. I was given the theme "survival horror" so that's what I did!
The third is a friend's character dressed as Jinx from League of Legends. That one was a lot of fun to draw, but took a while because guns.
The next is the same friend as Wind Waker Link, complete with mirror shield.
And the last one is my friend's friend dressed as Jayce [Debonair skin], also from LoL.

Enjoy!

Haha, how long do Pokemon live? I've never thought of one being 20+. X)

Nice! Those came out really good. Now I'm wondering what Zelda would look like to go along with Link. ;)

I think I know someone who would let me draw their character as Zelda, haha. I'll post it if I draw it!

I've always been a fan! I really love your stuff - it looks even more [email protected] then it use to :)

Yeah, thanks. :) I remember that piece I did for you back in the day.

Today I painted a Lucario, so have a Lucario!

Halo-related! Not a fan of the series, but one of my friends wanted a piggyback ride on The Arbiter. Probably not the most accurate drawing of him in existence, but it was a quick sketch, gimme a break. ;)

Not gaming related, but gasp! I drew a human. Thought you guys might care to see.

Nah, not really. I mostly just feel like I need to keep the A&E forum active. LOL

It reminds me of some of the drawings I caught many years ago from the Vampire: the Masquerade game book.  Nice work!

Nice work xain! My best friend has the same art style taste as you, as in furry. So you take commissions I presume?

Oh awesome, what a flattering comment, haha. Thanks!

Yeah, haha. I started out just drawing animals and then branched out into furries and now I'm working on my humans. Furries are pretty fun, though! And yes, I take commissions. Loooots of commissions. Everything I've posted in this thread so far has been a commission! That's how I pay my rent. ^^

Did a stream tonight and got commissioned for a guy's character dressed as Harry Townshend [protagonist of Silent Hill 4: The Room]! I love that game super hard and I was pretty ecstatic. It turned out pretty good and is semi-game themed, so here it is!

Hmm small round ears and big tail. I'm more used to seeing pointed ears and thinner tails, but it still came out good. :)

I try to draw species diversely and accurately since so many people draw skunks and other mustelids, felids and even cervines like canines. It's sad when everything anyone draws looks like a wolf.

Small round ears, big fluffy tail^

Ahh ok. I see you're point. There's no diversity when everything looks like it's from the same animal.

I thought this would be appropriate, what with all the talk about Arizona we've been having. My commissioner lives in Phoenix and wanted a realistic depiction [plus coyote man] of the situation there. He has a pool, but it's sometimes not much of a relief, apparently.

I originally had sketched the pool water boiling, but that was a bit overboard. ;) Still, there's a nice duststorm and a tumbleweed! No storm clouds in sight, though, sadly.

Enjoy AZ, Guardian! :P

Coincidentally, I was just coming here to make another post! I got commissioned for an Argonian. Elder Scrolls woo!

A friend of mine has a female orca character that's Fallout: New Vegas based. I got commissioned to draw her scavenging! It's not too gaming related, but A&E is so dead all the time, so here ya go!

That's interesting. It's not everyday I see something based on a whale. :)

I know right? They're slightly common in the furry fandom, but this is the first time I've ever been commissioned to draw one. I'm working on something else with some dolphins~

Cool, dolphins are awesome! :)

What would you say is the most exotic/unique animal you used for one of these?

Uhhh, hard to say! Probably a binturong. :) Attachment relevant.

LOL, I had to look up what a binturong was, but that is quite unique. ;)

Thread's been kinda dead for a while [eep, gravedigging], but I didn't want to start a new one just to pretty much say the same stuff so here we are!

I haven't gotten commissioned for much game-themed work lately, but I did do a Steam game trade event around the same time as the Holiday Sale. This is one of the images from that [I did it in trade for Shovel Knight]. Since it's a pirate assassin, I'm going to pretend it's Black Flag related. ;)

Nice work.  Do you do storm backgrounds, too?
Title: Re: Art Post - Furry Warning~

I'm sure I could, though I don't remember ever having done that. I've drawn cloudy/rainy backgrounds before and some lightning spell cast effects, so I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to combine them. ;)

I didn't see this comment until just now! Sorry about that. o_o
I do both, but all the ones I've posted here have been digital/computer. Still hand-drawn, but not using "real" media. I used to use a Wacom Intuos 3 tablet, but recently got an Intuos 4 Wireless so I've been using that lately. :) It's a bit of an upgrade!

And also here is a Kingdom Hearts themed commission I did recently. The title is "Now My Heart is Your Heart."

Umbreon! Actually I did an Espeon too, but he's less recognizable as an Espeon because of the way his player designed him [with a flat, humanoid face].

That last one makes me think of the movie Tron. Have you done a Tron themed one?

Not quite, but I did draw this mascot for a gaming forum/Steam group and she's kind of Tron-like, too! It's old [from 2013].

Few things, some of you might have already seen.

A WoW icon for a friend of his Tauren and the little bird Pepe.
A Game of Thrones themed commission [I went with the book series Iron Throne more than the TV show version].
And a Skyrim inspired badge.

Book cover! It's not perfect and I still need a lot more practice with humans, but the author loved it, so that's all that matters to me. :)

Eh, sometimes is the imperfections that make things come out the way they should IMO. Besides night job on his facial expression. It says just about everything you need to know. ;)
