Title: Hatsune Miku Art
Post by: xainy on March 28, 2013, 09:01:16 AM
Since I mentioned it in another thread, I'm gonna go ahead and post the full drawing seen in my avatar!

It's a version of my character [a white housecat] dressed [and with the same hairstyle] as Hatsune Miku from the Matryoshka video. If you don't know who Miku is, she's a Vocaloid.

Quote from: Wikipedia
Vocaloid is a singing voice synthesizer. The software enables users to synthesize singing by typing in lyrics and melody. It uses synthesizing technology with specially recorded vocals of voice actors or singers. To create a song, the user must input the melody and lyrics. Each Vocaloid is sold as "a singer in a box" designed to act as a replacement for an actual singer.

They [the Vocaloids] were all given humanoid personas as well and have become extremely popular as characters. Hatsune Miku's largest fanbase is actually in the US!

ANYWHO, this is A&E not InformationStation, so here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JGaQ3g8WU4

And my art is attached. :)

Looks pretty good. I'm not much into animaliziations of human characters, but she looks good. My only issue is the background color hurts my eyes.

Thanks? The background color was fitting the theme of the video, it was not my choice.

Thanks! 10 years of constant practice should come to something, after all. ^^

Question. Do you just do animal people, or have you also done humans/robots/backgrounds, etc?

I paint backgrounds pretty often, usually simple landscapes, sometimes indoor stuff. No robots really, sometimes cyborg arms or something, but mechanical stuff kind of eludes me and I'm much better drawing organic material. Humans I'm marginally ok with. I will accept them on commission now, at least. I used to just deny them. :P

I did a human/kemonomimi sketch this week, but it's kind of maturish so I won't post it here. o_o I could PM you a link if you care to see.

Here's a worgen in his human form that I drew Sept. 2011, though!

Awesome! Great job on the background too! :D

The human/kemonomimi sketch sounds interesting. I'd like to see that.

Oh! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to be rude. You are a good artist, I just didn't realize you didn't have power over your BG.
