Watched the Complete Version of FF7 Advent Children
« on: February 18, 2017, 01:25:37 PM »
I just watched it today because the Amazon reviews said it was much better than the DVD Special Edition and the story made more sense.

They were right. I once bought a copy of FF7: AC as the DVD Special Edition, and I did not enjoy the movie at all. I bought the Complete Edition (which is only on Blu-ray, I believe) recently due to the reviews.

This time, I enjoyed the movie, there were a bunch of additional scenes not in the Special Edition which completed the story, made Cloud's character development so much better (no more emo throughout the whole movie, you actually see him change from emo to heroic), and there is an ending scene in the Church that was NOT in the Special Edition, and IMO, that ending scene really made the movie 100x better.

Granted, the story is still very video gameish, and the dialogue is decent, but still... it's a really good video game movie.

I won't spoil anything else, but if you disliked FF7: AC, I'd recommend giving the Complete Edition a shot... unless you don't want to. :p

NOTE: I put this in GL because it's about a video game movie, but if it's more fit for GCC, let me know and I'll move it.

Interesting, I wasn't impressed with FF7: AC. Maybe this version will be better.

Likewise. The DVD "Special Edition" was not enjoyable. This Complete Edition, though, was much better.

Are you talking about the director's cut? Thay's all I could find on Vudu
Never say never or always. In most cases, there is an exception to anything you can think of that you might use either word in. "Most likely" and "highly improbable" in a lot of those cases would ring true, but not never/always.

Yes, the Complete Edition is basically the Director's Cut.
