Title: Promotional Discovery
Post by: Guardian on December 26, 2017, 10:00:14 PM
So, I checked my Twitter account (https://twitter.com/Brian_P_White).  My notifications told me three people added me to "lists".  Still figuring out what the hell I can do with Twitter for promoting my book, I asked if that was a good or bad thing.  Turns out it's good, as it means people are tuning in.  My book sales are very small right now, but I'm doing what I can to get the word out about my book (including a little commercial I put on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GvzDf6ya3M).  I'm also building an ad campaign on Facebook, which looks a whole lot cheaper AND will get more views than YouTube ($1 PER DAY, as opposed to $10pd on YouTube), so I'll try that out for maybe a week when I get paid.  If anyone has any tips about advertising, I'm all ears.

Now, if I can just find the time to continue writing my other books!

I just started testing an ad campaign on Facebook for a few days.  I'll see if it'll help me any.  Then maybe I'll try ads through Twitter and YouTube.  Any other thoughts?

Yea, use money for better ads ;)
Youtubers will promote things for the right amount of money!

Any idea how much each one charges?  I was hoping to get reviewers there, but no responses thus far.

Send me a link on Facebook to your ad thingy so I can share it. I don't see why you're not getting more attention by now. Your writing is awesome.

Gotta start somewhere.

(ad ... up to 312 views now).

UPDATE: The FB ad campaign didn't really yield results, though I may try again on peak days.  I'm trying a YouTube ad campaign for much less time (though much more money).  Wish me luck.

Good Luck Guardian!

Advertising ain't easy, but maybe in addition to Youtube, FB and Twitter, try all the other socials, may also try looking into online ads since they're everywhere?

So I tried YouTube.  Over 13,000 views.  One click.  ONE CLICK!  And that was a favor from my wife's friend!

Time to look at other avenues.

A YouTuber would've been nice if any ever responded to my requests.  No, I paid for an ad campaign from the site itself.  Know any YouTubers who might be interested?

You'd have to pick a youtuber who's into reading (I watch gaming youtubers, doubt they are book smart), and got to offer the right amount of money. (Every youtuber has different standards)

Pay for a review?  Nope!

Also, I've queried a lot. So far, no responses.

I'm also upping my game a bit.  I'm in talks with a professional model to pose in costume for promo pics.  She may even do a Comicon down the line for me (IF I can afford it).  We'll see how it works out.

I was thinking about this earlier today, but forgot to post. Have you considered releasing a sampler ebook? I've seen quite a few newer authors do this the past few years.
